Where to start on this visual assault? It seems that this game isn’t original by any means. While you play this you have to keep thinking back about what you have played before that Asura’s Wrath keeps pulling from? Omega Boost? Shenmue? Panzer Dragoon? God of War? It doesn’t matter. The developers didn’t care and why should we? THE GAME IS AMAZING, AND IT’S ONLY A DEMO!
(More after the jump…)
Currently, the demo comes with 2 episodes. 1 where you get acquainted with an old, rotund friend. You get used to the moves and combo system with projectiles. Hit buttons in time to incoming attacks and launch some things back.
The second episode they give you is another boss fight with an old mentor. This run will take you through nore of the hand to hand combat reminiscent of action platformers like Devil May Cry, God of War and Bayonetta. (Without so much air juggling…)
Some of the really interesting stuff that you don’t get to find out is that the episodes are really laid out like it’s an anime series. The next video shows the first 18 minutes of the game. It opens just like a show. This game was well thought out and feels like an interactive anime. The full retail version should provide an amazing amount of play and there is a rumor of Asura vs Ryu DLC on the way down! Let’s hope that’s not a vaporware promise or a tease.
